El Ten Eleven – Transitions

At work I listen to A LOT of instrumental shit. Post rock, movie scores,

shit like that, and somehow, in the 3 years this album had been out, I missed it completely.  A TRAVESTY I SAY!

This album is so good you guys.

It’s complex, and funky, and mathy, and just god damned good.  The titular and opening track Transitions comes in at just over 10 minutes, and through it you are taken on a sonic journey that will leave you bopping your head and pondering life’s intricacies.  “Does bread have dreams?”  “Can the dead have a pot luck?” “What makes pants so special?????”  These are thoughts you’ll have.  Guaranteed. Seriously though, in a genre that is wrought with gloomy, and overly LOUD..ness, it’s refreshing to hear a band that make good, awesome, upbeat post rock.

An album like this make me think, yeah, we’re going to make it as a people.  We’re going to survive, thrive, and not be overtaken by our robotic overlords.  Check it out below guys.

oh, and also, DAYBUMS IS BACK.

– Dan.
